Recently, CM Club Magazine had the opportunity to interview Cherie, exploring her passion.

CMCM: Cherie, your art is a beautiful blend of fine art and Reiki. How did you first discover this unique combination, and how has it evolved over the years?

CC: I hope that when people connect with my work, they feel a sense of calm, healing, and emotional clarity. My goal is for them to experience the energy I infused into the piece, whether it’s peace, balance, or an awakening of their own emotions. Ultimately, I want my art to create an energetic shift in the viewer, helping them feel more grounded, uplifted, or inspired.

As a New York-based artist, my journey into combining fine art with Reiki came naturally. Reiki aligns perfectly with that because it’s all about energy flow. I first discovered this unique combination when I realized that just as Reiki channels healing energy, my art channels the emotional and spiritual energy I experience. Over the years, this practice has evolved as I’ve honed my ability to infuse intention and healing energy into each piece, allowing viewers to not only see the art but feel it on a deeper, more energetic level.

I paint what I feel more than what I see. Art, for me, is deeply connected to emotions and energy.

CMCM: Can you talk more about how it influences your creative process? What do you hope people feel when they connect with your work?

CC: Reiki is an incredibly powerful practice that has become a vital part of my creative process. As an energy healing technique, Reiki allows me to tap into a deeper level of consciousness, helping me align with the flow of universal energy. When I’m painting, I often channel this energy to create art that is not just visually appealing but also emotionally and spiritually resonant. It’s a way for me to express feelings and vibrations that go beyond words.

I hope that when people connect with my work, they feel a sense of calm, healing, and emotional clarity. My goal is for them to experience the energy I infused into the piece, whether it’s peace, balance, or an awakening of their own emotions. Ultimately, I want my art to create an energetic shift in the viewer, helping them feel more grounded, uplifted, or inspired.

CMCM: What is your newest painting, and do you have any comments or insights about it that you’d like to share?

CC: My next pieces of art is called "Pulse of New York", and it will consist of five paintings, one for each of the five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island.

I will unroll a 5x5 canvas in each borough, make a mark, and invite the people of that borough to walk on the canvas and leave their own unique markings.

What makes this project so special is the diversity and evenness of every person who contributes, representing the wide range of cultures, backgrounds, and stories that make up New York City.

Once I’ve collected the energy from each borough, I will bring the canvases back to my studio and create five individual paintings—one for each borough. These pieces will capture the energy, spirit, and essence of that particular moment in time and space, reflecting the soul of each borough.

Each painting will be a one-of-a-kind work of heart, representing the dynamic energy of New York’s residents and the vibrant diversity that defines this incredible city.

The result will be five unique pieces that can never be duplicated, preserving the pulse and collective spirit of every person who contributed. This is an interactive piece of art that is bringing people together, and they love to be a part of it. Feel free to follow me on Instagram—it will really touch your heart: @cheriecorsoart.

CMCM: Your work is infused with energy and vibrant colors. Could you share with us what inspires your palette choices?

Cherie Corso: I absolutely love color, and I see color around people, places, and things. It's very important for me to keep my vibration high because it reflects in my art, and I do that through meditation and exercise.

CMCM: As an artist and a dedicated wife, how do you and your partner collaborate and support each other in both your personal lives and creative pursuits?

What do you believe is the secret to maintaining a strong, unbreakable marriage while balancing the demands of your artistic career?

CC: As an artist, wife, and mother, my husband and I collaborate by recognizing our unique passions and fully supporting each other in all aspects of life.

My husband is incredibly supportive of my artistic journey, always encouraging me to follow my creative path. The happier I am, the happier we are as a family, and that helps us thrive together.

My daughter is also a huge support; she loves my work and is always showing me the latest social media marketing tools to help me grow my audience and share my art with the world. It’s all about balance, nurturing our individual goals while keeping our connection strong as a family.

We prioritize quality time together, but my husband and daughter also understand the demands of my art, which allows me to pursue my career with their full backing. This kind of support keeps my art and our family flourishing.

CMCM: How do your life experiences, especially as a mom, influence the themes and emotions in your art?

CC: Everything is art! I can find artistic beauty in everything.

CMCM: Being an entrepreneur and artist can be incredibly demanding. How do you balance these roles?

CC: I think everyone wears so many different hats today. Not only are we creating and marketing, but we're also selling in order to have balance I go for a run and take a walk around the city go to a Museum and I get rejuvenated.

CMCM: What advice would you give to aspiring artists and entrepreneurs who are looking to blend their passions into a successful career?

CC: My advice is, don't be afraid—just start and finish.

You can always go back and perfect, but you have to start, it's easy to say and hide behind. If only if I had more time if I didn't have to do this, but the fact is nobody can do it for you. You have to just sit down carve out time and do it.

CMCM: What are your future plans? Are there any upcoming exhibitions or collaborations we can look forward to?

CC: Pulse of NY is my collaborative interactive art project, and I am so excited about it  it involves people energy stories and a lot of love for New York so is so exciting.

I am also working on a piece of art that will be auctioned off  for a historic night benefiting the National Cold War Center at the 2024 Cold War Party, coming up Nov. 2 at the Arkansas Aeroplex in Blytheville!
