With a lifetime dedicated to collecting and preserving extraordinary treasures, Richie has amassed a collection that is unparalleled in both its historical significance and its cultural value. From the grand palace rooms of Versailles King Louis XIV to the cherished possessions of iconic figures like Whitney Houston, his collection offers a window into the past that continues to captivate and inspire.
Throughout his career, Richie has been driven by a passion to unearth the finest art treasures of America. The moment he laid eyes on the beautiful Schimmel piano, he was captivated. A lifelong admirer of Whitney Houston, Richie's perseverance paid off when he convinced the current owner to showcase these incredible items at his studio in Los Angeles.
Recently, CM Club magazine had the opportunity to interview Richie, delving into his passion for preservation, remarkable acquisitions.
CMCM: Before we dive into the questions, Richie, we want to extend our sincere thanks for taking the time to share your insights with us.
CMCM: Could you kindly share more about your collection of treasures?
Richie: The acquisition of Whitney Houston’s famous glass piano is part of magnificent collection of extraordinary, historical treasures and irreplaceable artifacts. This collection, appraised at close to a hundred million dollars, represents a lifetime of dedication. It includes artifacts from the grand palace room of Versailles King Louis XIV to Whitney Houston’s cherished piano. This collection is now up for private and discrete acquisition, presenting a rare opportunity to own such a unique assembly of historical treasures. I am looking to sell the entire collection,' with estimates approaching a hundred million dollars.
CMCM: Last month you visited the CC Forum in Paris. What motivated your attendance at this event?
Richie: Along my travels as the Treasure King, I’ve invested millions into creating very high-quality lost wax molds so they can be recreated in the highest quality bronze. I have sold many pieces to casinos, castles, mansions, and famous landmarks around the world, including grand chandeliers and extraordinary artifacts that once graced beautiful palaces and châteaus. Attending the CC Forum in Paris was motivated by my commitment to promoting these high-quality recreations.
CMCM: Which historical or mythical figures have inspired you the most?
Richie: It was Zeus who positioned Atlas to hold the heavens and stars upon his shoulders, allowing him time to study the stars. Atlas brought astrology to mankind, and the concept of Zeus.
CMCM: What motivates you to keep moving forward?
Richie: Music is the greatest common denominator among all living beings, plants, and fish. Every living creature is affected by music, which transcends all boundaries and brings a universal message.
CMCM: You mentioned that Michael Jackson was your friend. How would you describe him?
Richie: Michael was really laid-back and funny, never taking himself too seriously.
